Well, yet another month has come and gone. We are in what I think of as the "golden age". Titus is still a baby - occasionally will fall asleep in my arms. He is not too mobile yet, and loves to laugh and smile. He is expressive and interactive, and enjoys learning about the world around him. I remember loving this age with Georgia, and I love it with Titus too.
Height: 26 inches
Weight: 16 pounds
Teeth - none yet
Titus loves playing with paper. He will take sheets of paper, junk mail, magazines, newspaper, whatever. I think he likes the sound of it, and he will crinkle it, hit it, and just play with it for a long time. He also loves rolling. Although he rolled once a long time ago, this month he has been practicing - and mostly rolling from his back onto his tummy. He is also very close to sitting up, although he doesn't seem to be as interested in doing that. Besides his heavy head, his core is pretty strong and he can hold himself up for a while. His other favorite thing is watching his sister. He is so interested in what she is doing, and will giggle and squirm when he sees her.
He has been much easier on the sleeping front. Now, he will fall asleep on his own, in his bed (most of the time!). He takes 3-4 naps/day. He prefers to go to bed for the evening at 6:30 or so, but many evenings we are not home at that time. So, occasionally he takes a late nap so that he will go to bed around 8 or 8:30. One cute thing is that he really likes to sleep on his side. Once you put him down, he will roll over and curl up. Just adorable! Currently he wakes up 2-3 times a night to eat. Once usually around 10 or 11, once around 12-1 and once around 5ish. He will sleep then until 7-8am.
We started eating a little bit of solids this month. We are doing technically "baby-led weaning". Basically, we just give him whole foods, and he eats them. Its basically pure laziness (or business) on my part that encourages this. He has eaten avocado and banana this way. He really seems to like the avocado, but did not seem to enjoy the banana. He is much more interested in food than his sister was. He loves watching us eat and will try to grab any food items that we are holding.
while in Colorado, I had the teeniest bit of dairy. Here is the rash that broke out on Titus' face. |
Titus is still battling cradle cap, unfortunately. It is getting a little bit better, but that pesky, dry skin is still there. I am also hoping to see a light at the end of the tunnel for his allergies. I was able to eat bread successfully, and also had a mayonnaise sauce this weekend, without incident! We switched to using cloth diapers about 70% of the time, and the little patches of eczema he had in his diaper area have gotten much lighter.
