4 months

Well, time continues to move at a break-necked pace. It is unbelievable that my little one is a quarter a third of a year old (right? 4/12 = 1/3.... just checking). Anyways.... this month we've been falling into more of a pattern and still getting adjusted. Titus continues to be a happy baby, and is a joy to be around. His personality is beginning to show through, which is always fun.

Weight: almost 16 pounds
Height: around 26 inches
Diapers: size 2

Sleep: unpredictable. He is starting to become more scheduled and routine, which is nice. I had tried putting him in bed early (like 6:30ish), but then he was waking up around 8 or 9 plus a couple times throughout the night. So, I let him take a late afternoon nap sometime around 4 or 5, and it allows him to push his bedtime back to 7:30 or 8. This is great because that is when Georgia starts getting ready for bed. Ideally, it would be earlier than that, but we have things in the evenings 3 nights out of the week, so those three nights he can't go to bed any earlier, anyways.

He is napping 4-5 times a day still. Oftentimes, his afternoon nap is a long one - closer to 2 hours. The other ones are short. Sometimes he only wakes up once at night, other nights he is up 2 or 3 times. He is an early riser - when he wakes between 4 and 6am, he seems pretty awake (but is still really tired). So, I have been bringing him into our bed where it is dark and quiet and we both fall asleep together ;) I remember doing this with Georgia too - its fun to get some cuddles plus he sleeps really well after he falls asleep again.

His digestive issues seem to be getting better. I seem to have the most problems when I eat out or eat at other peoples houses. At home, I really watch what I eat, and am very strict about it. Oftentimes after eating out, the following day will be rough on Titus. Right now I am soy, dairy, gluten, oats, chocolate and egg free. I am not eating any soy lecthin or soybean oil (both of which are supposedly ok because they have been processed) because he seems to have reactions after I eat food with those. His poop is still not normal, but his eczema and tummy issues seem to be much better.

Titus is more reserved than his sister. He has moments where he seems very shy. He will bury his head into me when nervous - especially when meeting new people. He has cried occasionally when someone strange has held him. His favorite person in the world is Georgia. He giggles when he sees her, and will watch her run around and around. He is very content to sit and watch the action that is going on around him. He is generally very content. He has rolled over both ways, but only once each time (and doesn't seem bothered to do it again). He has started playing with his feet. He can hold things well and bring them to his mouth. He likes to practice sitting, but his head seems so heavy for him to hold up.

Georgia's sayings

Georgia has just been full of good sayings lately. I haven't been writing all of
them down, unfortunately. There are a few though that I want to share (and remember!).

The other day at lunch with Dave. We were sitting outside, enjoying some warm air while eating. There was a larger oldish man and his wife were sitting next to us.  All of a sudden Georgia just asked, "Why does that big man have a big belly?" And of course she has a loud voice and the poor man overheard her. He took it very well and exclaimed, "I've been working on this belly for years!"


Tonight at Grandma and Grandpas house, we were getting ready to leave. Dave was out of town and it was just me and the kids. Grandma asked if Georgia, "Would you like to ride on my back?" (out to the car). Without missing a beat, Georgia said, "No. You're not a piggy!" We all laughed at that one!

We go to a moms group and they have a kids program. This last week I asked Georgia how it was. She was telling me about it, then said, "I tried to kiss the boy, but he didn't like that." I guess the poor boy turned her down and that made her upset! I'm not sure if any of the adults in the room witnessed this exchange. I had to explain to her that not everyone wants kisses ;)


In the car this morning, Georgia said (out of the blue and very excited about it all), "Someday I have a baby in my tummy! And I have milk for my baby! I am so excited!" Then she went on and explained. "I will marry Sawyer. Titus will marry Lucie. And Sawyer will be my daughter (obviously she doesn't understand what a daughter is) and he will live with me." She went on to say that they would dance and then be married. (I think she was confused about a wedding because she implied that the dancing part would equal them getting married). It was all very cute, and I couldn't help thinking how girlie she is. I doubt very many 3-year-old boys are contemplating marriage and weddings.
